KOCHA WA NEWCASTLE AMWOMBA RADHI PELLEGRINI

Newcastle manager Alan Pardew has apologised for a touch-line rant at Manchester City boss Pellegrini - but maintained Cheick Tiote's disallowed 'goal' should have stood.TOUCHLINE TALK: Newcastle United's manager Alan Pardew and City boss Manuel Pellegrini

Newcastle manager Alan Pardew has apologised for a foul-mouthed rant at Manchester City manager Manuel Pellegrini on the touchline at St James' Park.
The two exchanged words in the aftermath of Cheick Tiote's disallowed 'goal' during the Blues' 2-0 win .

Replays suggest that Pardew shouted, "******* old ****" at Pellegrini as tempers flared.

Pardew said afterwards: "Pellegrini said something to me on the touchline which I wasn't happy with, it was normal banter where I probably used words I shouldn't have in the heat of the moment and I apologise for that."

Filth: Alan Pardew has apologised for an expletive-laden rant at Manchester City manager Manuel Pellegrini

Furious: Alan Pardew (left) claims he doesn't understand why Cheick Tiote's goal was disallowed

Disallowed: Yoan Gouffran moves out of the way of Tiote's shot, but was in an offside position

Explanation: Pardew (left) prepares to air his views to the match day officials after the half-time whistle

Wretched: Referee Mike Jones had a torrid time as Manchester City beat Newcastle 2-0 at St James' Park

We have a problem: Jones overruled his linesman to disallow Cheick Tiote's stunning first half strike

No idea: Newcastle weren't informed of the change in decision until after Tiote had run off celebrating

Flick? Jones must've surmised that Yoan Gouffran got a touch on the shot before it flew into the net

Wrong again! Mapou Yanga-Mbiwa should have been shown a red card for a horror tackle on Samir Nasri

Watching on! The defender has eyes for the back of Nasri's legs as the Frenchman skips by

Angry: Pardew (left) showed his frustration to the officials as they walked off the pitch at half-time

Point to make: Pardew (left) believes the decision to disallow Tiote's goal was wrong

Controversy: Gouffran (centre) was judged to be offside despite not touching the ball after Tiote's shot
