Tanzania Breweries Limited (TBL) through its beer Balimi Extra Lager has today offically announced its sponsorship once again of the Traditional Dance competition for residents in the Lake Zone. This is the eigth (8th) year of the competition running and have been heightened by great excitement for the residents of the Lake Zone.
Speaking to journalists in Dar es Salaam today, the Marketing Manager for Tanzania Breweries Limited (TBL), Mr. Fimbo Butullah said that the purpose of the Balimi Extra Lager brand sponsoring this competition is to spend time with the residents of the Lake Zone in celebrating this season’s harvest. He went on to say “This competition is to remind us of our culture and protects it from becoming extinct. It is also an avenue for people for people from different cultures to meet, get aquainted and enjoy together, and this helps to stregthen peace and love between us as peace is the most important pillar inour nation”.
Mr.Fimbo, explained that this year’s dance competition will include five (5) provinces from the Lake Zone. The competitons will kick off on the 15th of June in the Tabora region and continue to the Shinyaga, Kagera and Mwanza region. The competiton is expected to end in the Mara region in the town of Musoma. Winners from each region will compete in a grand final that is expected to be held in mid July to find the winner for the Lake Zone. The official dates of the competition is as shown below;
1. Tabora region; Saturday 15th June Ipuli Mnadani Stadium
2. Shinyanga region; Saturday 22nd June Shycom Grounds
3. Kagera region; Saturday 29th June Kaitaba Grounds
4. Mwanza region; Saturday 6th July CCM Kirumba Stadium
5. Musoma region; Saturday 13th July Prison Officers Mess
6. Lake Zone finals; Saturday 20th July CCM Kirumba Stadium
Mr.Fimbo also spoke of this year’s prizes at both provincial and regional level and that Balimi Extra Lager had allocated over seven (7) million as gift prizes. Organization of the prizes is as shown below;

Mr.Fimbo, closed by urging citizens of the the Lake Zone region to come out in large numbers to relax and enjoy traditional dances that originated from different places.
